WhatsApp is rolling out the App sidebar and status reply feature for the universal Windows platform. The Meta-owned company released a new beta version for the native Windows app last week. With this update, the version has reached 2.2240.1.0. According to the latest reports the platform had released this update only to some select beta users.
The popular messenger and chat support software has been regularly bringing improvements to the app with new advanced features. This beta update brings news about previous weeks’ rollout – the ability to reply to status updates for the Windows app. Check out more details in this article below.
WhatsApp enabled App sidebar and status reply
In a previous article released in August by WABetaInfo, the leading WhatsApp news portal reported two new important features for WhatsApp beta Windows. The report mentioned that the first update was about the feature that lets you react to messages with an emoji.
The feature has already been enabled on Android, iOS, and desktop platforms in previous updates. The second feature brings the ability to see status updates. WAbetaInfo had already mentioned the second feature in its previous report.
The news source reported that since the feature was in testing there were possibilities that the WhatsApp developers team can add more improvements to the feature before finally releasing it. In this current beta update, the platform brings some reference to the status replies.
As the feature is still in testing the ability to create a new status update is still not available. However, the platform enabled the ability to reply to status updates after a little while. So you can expect that the ability to create a new status update will also be available shortly.
Along with this feature, there is one more addition to this update. WhatsApp has also added an App sidebar. This new sidebar lets you reach status updates, settings, and your profile very quickly and easily. Both features have been enabled for all beta users.
Those who still cannot see the feature, make sure to install the latest version of the app from the Microsoft store. For further information on all upcoming new releases of WhatsApp beta Android, iOS web/desktop, and windows keep following us.
