WhatsApp developing Secure your account section feature
You all know the importance of enabling two-step verification on WhatsApp. This process adds an extra layer of security to your WhatsApp account. In this process, the app lets you configure a secondary PIN code. WhatsApp will ask you to provide this PIN code after the 6-digit code to access your WhatsApp account.
The company is planning to enable this feature in a future update of the app. According to the current report of WABetaInfo, in this update, the company is suggesting enabling this security function to those users who have not yet enabled two-step verification.
The leading WhatsApp news portal has also released a screenshot of the feature. In the image, you can see that the company is planning to add a ‘secure your account section’ in the two-step verification process. The image also reveals that the company is recommending to users for adding an extra level of security to their WhatsApp accounts.
However, you can also see that this is not mandatory as the company has also provided a ‘skip’ button along with the ‘set up now button. So you can either choose to use this secure your account section by setting up the two-step verification or simply skip it.
To enable this process just go to your WhatsApp setting and then go to the account section. Then tap on the two-step verification and set up your security PIN. As mentioned earlier this feature is currently under development process so it is not available to beta testers.
There is no information on when it will be finally released. However, when it will be available, the secure your account section will show up only to those who have not enabled the two-step verification for their account.
