Telegram Messenger is rolling out a ‘Customized notifications sounds feature’ for its users. According to the reports, this latest update will allow you to set any sound for your notifications. Additionally, the platform is also reported to bring Custom mute durations in the same update.

It is one of the most downloaded apps and it can be synced across all your devices. Telegram’s Customized Notification Sounds
Telegram has announced in its new update that it will let users turn any sound of their choice into alerts. You can choose these notification sounds from short audio files uploaded from your device or from received voice messages from any chat. To set your Custom Notification Sounds and custom mute durations follow these simple instructions:-
Set Custom Notification Sounds
Open Telegram settings on your smartphone. After this open any chat. Then tap on the three-dot visible on the upper right side of your screen. A menu will be displayed with several options. From these options tap on the ‘mute’ icon. Another menu will open up.
From this menu select the ‘customize’ option. You will see a new page. On the top of this page, you will find the ‘Enable Custom Notification’ option. Tap it to turn it on. Under this option, you will find the ‘General’ section with different alternatives.
Choose ‘Sound’ from this section. Another new page will open up. On this page, you will find the default tunes of the app under the ‘Telegram Tunes’ section. There is also an ‘Upload Sound’ option in this same section. Tap on that. A slide will appear from the bottom of the screen. From this slide select the audio file that you want to set from the ‘Recent Files’ section.
Now, this audio file will be uploaded to the Telegram Tunes section. Now select this particular audio file, return to the chat, and tap on the voice clip. From the displayed menu tap on the ‘Save for Notification’ option. A Pop – up will arrive notifying you, ‘Sound Added – you can now use this sound as a notification tone in your Custom Notification Settings.
For Custom mute durations, the app already supported muting chats, but according to the report now it can pause notifications for a specific duration instead of presetting the periods of time. This duration could be one hour, two hours, one day, or even a month.
